Anti-Inflammatory Tumeric Milk

Most people by now have heard that tumeric is a great anti-inflammatory but most people only associate it with curry.   Here’s a recipe a friend shared with me that is actually really good.  It’s like a warm milk with a chai sort of taste.  It gives that comforting feel and it actually good for you so drink up!   This recipe is courtesy of Wellness Mama so I want to be sure to give them credit!

Soothing and Immune Boosting Turmeric Tea Recipe Golden Milk Recipe

Recipe:

  • 1 can coconut milk and 1 can of water (I use 2 cups Silk Coconut Milk instead)
  • 1 tsp tumeric
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • pinch of black pepper (it helps the tumeric absorb)
  • small piece of ginger (if you leave this whole you can take out which I prefer)
  • raw honey to taste (raw is soooo much better)

So blend this up first (whisking doesn’t work very well).  If you want to take the ginger out like I do, don’t add it into the blender just throw it in the pot. Then heat 3-5 minutes til warm but DO NOT BOIL.  You will want to drink this pretty soon.

I keep the spices premixed in a small container on my stove so blend and heat and I am ready to roll.  This is also nice on colder mornings.  Enjoy the drink and the benefits!
